Tour is a good way to introduce yourself to a new place and after you know the ropes you can return and stay longer. Yes Antigua will be all booked up as Semana Santa is a big deal and it is a shame you will be not there to enjoy the whole week. Photos of it on my website wolfcalls.com. I think the best suggestion was to stay in some place in Guat city and then travel on Easter Saturday to catch your tour. Did you inquirer of your tour group about arrival places to stay that they might assist you with? It will be very hard to get around in Antigua that day as processions and blocked streets etc.
